STATIONS AND STOPS

The stations and stops of the Ferrovie del Nord Barese feature different levels of accessibility for individuals with limited or impaired mobility.

Please note it is possible to view the list of stations with their specifications and features on page 29 of The Service Charter 2023.

Bari Centrale, Corato, Andria Sud stations, and the stops at Tesoro, Cittadella, San Gabriele, Hospital, Cecilia, Corato Sud - Hospital, Airport, and Europa are all fully accessible. This means they offer independent access to the ticket offices and platforms. All movement within the station areas and restrooms for individuals with reduced mobility can take place without encountering architectural barriers, or by using a lift. Boarding and alighting from trains for passengers with mobility challenges in wheelchairs at these FM1 line stops take place at platform level. Please note assistance is only provided by company staff at the Airport and Europa stops (except for FLIRT, CIVITY, and POP trains) and at Bari Centrale Station who are authorised to use wheelchair lifting platforms.

Bari Centrale Station is accessible from 5:00 am to midnight. It can be accessed every day via the "Yellow" underpass if coming from the Bari Centrale RFI station or from Via Giuseppe Capruzzi.

From Monday to Saturday, access is also possible using the lift that connects the station with Corso Italia or Piazza Aldo Moro and the Ferrovie Appulo Lucane station.

Please note the lift connecting the platform level of the Bari Centrale stations of Ferrovie Appulo Lucane and Ferrotramviaria is exclusively for the use by travellers with mobility difficulties.

Travelers continuing their journey with trains departing from the RFI station can request assistance by contacting the Blue Room in advance (02323232; salablu.BARI@rfi.it).

Please note, at the Airport stop, a wheelchair can be made available for travelling companions to facilitate the access of passengers with reduced mobility within the facility upon request made at least 24 hours in advance.

  • The stations of Bitonto, Terlizzi, Ruvo, Corato, and the SS. Medici stop offer limited accessibility. This means they aid travellers with mobility difficulties to access ticket offices, station platforms, and when boarding trains. Company staff are authorized to use lifting platforms for wheelchairs but are not permitted to carry passengers on them.
  • Stations with underpasses are equipped with stairlift platforms for passengers with limited mobility.
  • For getting on and off trains at stations with limited accessibility, there is a wheelchair lift cart available for passengers with mobility difficulties.
  • At Corato, Corato Sud, and Andria Sud stations, access to trains for persons with reduced mobility (PRMs) is possible only when travelling with FLIRT, CIVITY, and POP electric trains.
  • The stations of Bari Centrale, Bitonto, Terlizzi, Ruvo, Corato, Andria Sud, Fesca S.G., Cecilia, and the stops at Tesoro, Cittadella, San Gabriele, Hospital, Airport, Europa, SS. Medici, Macchie, Corato Sud - Hospital are equipped with wheelchair-access restrooms for passengers with reduced mobility.
